Eminox opens advice centre for London LEZ changes 01 December 2010

Retrofit exhaust emissions specialist Eminox has opened a London service centre to meet anticipated demand on the run up to the new London LEZ rules.

Requirements coming into force in January 2012 are different to those implemented in 2008, and Eminox says it has recruited an LEZ team to provide operators with advice.

Rules for phase 3 and 4 of the LEZ allow vehicles to be upgraded using retrofit technologies, rather than replacing vehicles.

The centre, which is six miles from Heathrow and just outside the zone, has five large fitting bays suitable for all vehicle types, including double-decker buses.

Mike Galey, from Eminox, says that it has capacity to install between 16 and 48 systems per day, with a technical support team on site specialising in emission control technologies. F

Filter servicing will also be carried out at the new centre, he says, using the 'next generation' Xpurge process.

"[The new centre] allows us to increase our fitting capacity to meet the expected demand for retrofit systems in the run up to the next phases of the London LEZ. It also expands the local after-sales support we can offer for vehicles fitted with emission control systems," comments Galey.
