EN12642 XL compliance boosts Cartwright’s trailer rentals 02 July 2013

Body and trailer manufacturer Cartwright says that of the 5,000 trailers in its rental fleet, over 1,000 now have EN12642XL load security accreditation.

"Our natural replacement into the rentals fleet is for trailers coming back [after operator use]," explains group sales director, Darren Holland.

"We are already accredited on our trailer type for EN compliance, and the big thing there is that it is not just the curtains that have to be load-bearing but also the chassis, the front, rear and the roof of the trailer," he adds.

Holland says that, as Cartwright already knows that its trailers are compliant when they come back to the company from the finance arm of the business, an EN compliant curtain is fitted and EN12642XL compliant trailers then go back into the rental fleet.

"This benefit of having the trailer compliant to EN12642XL can be shared whether they own it or rent it, he states. "It is a massive issue and as a business we are converting more and more trailers to EN compliance."
