Encon Insulation wraps up 87-vehicle fleet renewal with Fraikin15 September 2016

Encon Insulation has signed an 87-vehicle fleet renewal deal with Fraikin, in a continuation of its 25-year relationship with the contract hire commercial vehicle supplier.

The new seven-year, full-service contract hire agreement includes 24 26-tonne DAF CF330 curtainside trucks, 20 curtainside 32-tonne DAF CF400s, plus two flatbed variants of the same truck, featuring Hiab Moffett off-load capability to meet specific customer requirements in London.

As part of the deal, Fraikin will also supply 41 Hiab Moffett forklifts.

In a first for the company, FORS-accredited Encon has specified trucks with rear steer axles, giving a longer wheelbase and more capacity. The rear steer axle also improves manoeuvrability – vital for Encon’s deliveries to construction sites.

The vehicles all feature reverse and side cameras, automatic braking and lane departure warning systems.

Each truck is also fitted with additional equipment for operator safety, including a fall arrest system, an improved load restraint package and energy-efficient LED lighting for on-site deliveries.

The fleet is also monitored using mySmartFleet, Fraikin’s telematics package launched last year in partnership with Masternaut.

Barbara Sudlow, Encon’s national facilities manager, says: “Fraikin’s understanding of what we do, where we deliver and what our customers expect of us, means it always ensures our fleet specification enhances the development of the company.

“The positive commitment of the Fraikin account management team to maintaining our fleet, quickly finding solutions to any problems, and to always being on hand to offer insight through their extensive fleet knowledge are the cornerstones of this long-term partnership.”
