The two DAF 55 LF180 transporters each have an overall length of 10m and are 2.26m wide – the vehicles were specified for their width, which accommodates many sports cars, and for the tilt and slide body which enables the whole deck area to slide off the back of the chassis for easier loading/unloading.
The trucks are Euro 6 single-deck covered transporters have a day cab and are fitted with a Dyson Hydraloader SLA 5000 body. They have a gvw of 12,000kg and a load capacity of five tonnes.
Danny Glynn, managing director of Enterprise Flex-E-Rent, says: “The vehicles in our Exotic Car Collection can’t just be driven away from a branch like a normal hire car. Customers rightly expect an exceptional ‘white glove’ experience and for the cars to be treated like the masterpieces they are. That’s why we’ve created specialist transporters that are masterpieces in their own right.”
He adds: “Transporting luxury and high-performance sports vehicles is a specialised operation. The transporters had to be covered units and also needed to accommodate the extra width to allow for the varying dimensions of the cars in our Exotic Car Collection. We had to make sure we could fit the complete range through the opening on the roller door.”
The vehicles are available to rent from a specialist Enterprise branch at Heathrow Airport for delivery anywhere in the UK.
