Entry now open for Skills Challenge competition for bus and coach technicians17 January 2018

The eighth IRTE Skills Challenge is now accepting applications from contestants until 31 March 2018.

The Challenge, in which bus and coach technicians test their practical and theoretical knowledge through a battery of tests, is again due to take place at S&B Academy, Bristol, the week of 4 June 2018. As usual, there will be tests of apprentices and technicians in a variety of disciplines.

New this year is a master technician category, open only to prior winners. Each participating company is allowed to nominate only one master technician competitor. This person would go on to compete in two of the ongoing tests: mechanical and electrical. In addition, they will need to complete a wide-ranging multiple-choice test paper.
