Europcar drives off with first of 95-strong Iveco Daily order15 May 2014

Car hire business Europcar has taken delivery of 20 3.5-tonne Iveco Daily Luton vans, the first of a 95-vehicle order to be delivered during the year.

Each Daily 35C13 chassis cab has a 3.75m-long wheelbase and bodywork by Alloy Bodies, Iveco's Daily DriveAway Options partner. This enables Europcar to benefit from a three-year unlimited mileage warranty, covering both the chassis and body.

Supplied by dealer Guest Truck & Van, the new vehicles will remain in Europcar's fleet for up to three years. The vehicles can be driven by anyone with a standard car driving licence and will be available for short- or long-term hire from locations across the UK.

The vehicle is powered by a 2.- litre FPT Industrial diesel engine, producing up to 126bhp between 3,200 and 3,900 rev/min, and up to 320 Nm of torque between 1,800 and 2,750 rev/min.

Each van also has Stop & Start functionality, as well as a gear shift indicator. The new Daily, says Iveco, cuts fuel consumption and carbon emissions by up to 10% compared to its predecessor.

"The Dailys are a really important addition to our fleet," says Ken McCall, Europcar's UK managing director. "They offer a great payload capacity, plus the combination of the Luton body and tail-lift makes light work of moving even big loads for our customers."
