EYMS commissions four locally built ADL Enviro 200s12 January 2017

Scarborough and District buses are putting four new Euro 6 30-seater ADL (Alexander Dennis) Enviro200 single deck buses on the road, together worth £0.5 million.

Peter Shipp, chairman and CEO of EYMS Group, which owns Scarborough and District buses, says they replace much older similar size buses, and are part of a £1.6million in 10 new buses for the EYMS fleet.

Making the point that its new buses were locally built at ADL’s Plaxton factory, Shipp says: “Naturally we are delighted to have been able to buy bocal, and … we are just about to place an order for five more similar [Enviro200] buses, which will also be built at Plaxton, in Scarborough, next year.”

Acknowledging that times are tough for bus operators, “mainly due to central and local government funding cuts”, Shipp explains that operators still need to update their fleets.
