Falcon Coaches expands fleet with Volvo 01 June 2017

Hertfordshire-based Falcon Coaches has expanded its fleet with a new Volvo B11R SC7 and two new B8R SB3 vehicles.

A longstanding Volvo customer, Falcon chose the B11R with SC7 for the fuel economy provided by the B11R chassis, coupled with the aesthetics of the SC7.

The B11R two-axle coach is equipped with a Volvo D11K 10.8-litre engine rated at 430bhp, driving through a fully automated, 12-speed I-Shift transmission.

“We have been impressed with the B11R SC7 that we purchased a couple of years ago and had no hesitation in a repeat purchase,” says Darren Nash, Falcon’s owner.

The operator also specified two 72-seater B8R SB3s to service new school contracts. The two-axle B8R has a 7.7-litre engine, delivering 320bhp at 2,100 rpm and driving through a ZF Ecolife six-speed automatic transmission.

“We decided the Volvo B8R was the right coach for us, with its large seating capacity and robust interior, suitable for frequent, everyday use,” adds Nash.
