Farrall’s Group moves up a gear 15 April 2021

Family-owned haulage and warehousing specialists, Farrall’s Group of Chester, has recently taken delivery of its first New Generation MAN TGX tractors and two new MAN TGE 3.5 tonne vans.

The new TGX tractors, both 26.470 6x2’s feature mid-lift axles and GM cabs. The two TGE 3.140 chassis cabs both have curtainsider bodies.

“When purchasing a MAN you know exactly what you’re getting, they are robust, efficient and reliable,” says Matthew and founder Eddie Farrall’s grandson. “With MAN you also get a partnership with the dealer network, in our case AN Richards of Froncysyllte, who totally understand our business, our needs and offer us a 360 degree level of wrap-around care.”

Supplied by MAN Truck & Bus UK’s direct sales function, they were inspected and prepared by AN Richards of Froncysyllte, Denbighshire.

Both TGX’s feature the spacious GM cab and are powered by the latest generation Euro 6D MAN D26 12.4 litre engines, producing 2.400 Nm of torque. Throughout their working days the new TGX’s will be involved in general transport operating nationwide collecting and delivering customer goods.

The two new MAN TGE’s are both 138bhp 3640-mm wheelbase chassis cab variants. They were sent to Truck Craft Bodies of Duckinfield, Greater Manchester, and bodied with 13-foot curtainsider bodies, both featuring flush-fitting column-mounted 60/40 tail lifts (60% tail lift, 40% up and over rear door) and an Aero Dome above the cab. These vehicles will be used for Palletforce Operations delivering and collecting throughout the CH and LL postcodes, helping with access to B2C deliveries and town centre locations.

“We’ve heard great things about the new generation TGX in terms of efficiency and fuel consumption, so were very much looking forward to seeing how they perform and early indications are very positive indeed. These new vehicles will help the company meet an increased demand for deliveries and ensure we continue to meet and deliver upon our customer expectations,” concluded Matthew Farrall, managing director of Farrall's Group.
