Fire service goes wireless with Somerstotalkare lifts 01 June 2011

Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service has taken delivery of a set of six heavy-duty S6CF cable free lifts from Somerstotalkare.

Fleet manager Pat Deasy explains that the service has 180 vehicles, comprising of emergency response and support vehicles that require maintenance every 13 weeks.

"We upgraded our set of four S6 5.5 tonne lifts to a set of six S6CF lifts as, following the tender process, we felt the wireless technology offered by Somerstotalkare met our requirements," he states.

The S6CF lifts have a lifting capacity of 7.5 tonnes per column and can be used in sets of four, six or eight columns.
