First biogas filling station opens in South West29 September 2014

The West Country's first biogas filling station was officially opened on Friday (26 September 2014) by Somerset MP Ian Liddell-Grainger.

Located at Bridgwater, junction 24 on the M5, the open-access facility can supply up to 80 dual-fuel trucks per day and this capacity will be increased as demand rises.

The station supplies Gasrec's Bio-LNG fuel – a combination of liquefied biomethane and liquefied natural gas.

Bridgwater is one of five open-access filling stations that Gasrec is developing across the UK motorway network.
