First DAF Euro 6 dual-fuel HGV at the CV Show 2015 27 March 2015

The UK’s first DAF Euro 6 dual-fuel tractor unit – an XF 12.8 litre, 450bhp with small midlift – will be displayed on liquefied gas supplier Gasrec’s stand at this year’s Commercial Vehicle Show (14—16 April, at the NEC Birmingham).

Gasrec's stand, which the company is sharing with Dieselgas (formerly Prins Autogas), will major on liquid and compressed natural gas (LNG and CNG) and the improving gas fuel infrastructure foir commercial vehicles.

"It has been tremendously exciting to see the success of this first DAF Euro 6 conversion to dual-fuel," comments Chris Thornycroft Smith, Gasrec non-executive director.

"It comes at a time when we have a host of vehicle manufacturers moving forward with R&D programmes to advance the development of gas vehicles, as demand for this commercially and environmentally advantageous technology grows," he explains.

Dieselgas is the first company to successfully convert a new DAF Euro 6 vehicle to run on dual-fuel (CNG and diesel) within the emissions legislation.
