First MAN TGE vans for Aspray2406 April 2018

Willenhall-based supply chain business Aspray24 has taken delivery of six MAN TGE vans – the operator’s first from the manufacturer – saying the vehicles “rival anything on the market”.

Supplied by dealer Aquila Truck Centre, of West Bromwich, the operator’s new additions join a fleet of 400 vehicles and 150 trailers.

Five of the vans are TGE 3.140 long wheelbase high roof versions, with 138bhp engines paired with six-speed manual gearboxes. The sixth is the 178bhp TGE 3.180 long wheelbase version, with an eight-speed automatic transmission.

The TGEs are supplied with Emergency Brake Assist and air conditioning, and are fitted with Hope Safe-T-Bars, two-way cameras with recording function, electronic PDA systems and ply-lined cargo areas.

“We are very impressed with the TGE’s build quality and standard specification, and have found it to rival anything in the market,” says Jon Turner, fleet engineer at Aspray24.

With the requirement for 24/7 availability, he adds, MAN’s ability to support the vans to the same level as its trucks was “a major factor” in the decision.

The vehicles come with optional five-year Gold R&M packages, supported by the standard three-year, unlimited mileage manufacturer warranty. They also come with MAN’s Mobile24 breakdown service, which guarantees 24/7 emergency roadside assistance, 365 days of the year.
