First national ATF forum hailed as a success 29 February 2012

Operators of ATFs (Authorised Testing Facilities) recently participated in the first national forum aimed at providing an platform for the community to network and exchange views with VOSA about their ATF experiences to date.

Hosted by the VOSA (Vehicle and Operator Services Agency), the forum also allowed operators to put forward ideas for improving the way testing can be carried out at non-VOSA sites.

Over 80 representatives from ATFs across the country attended, and VOSA's chief executive Alastair Peoples says: "It was good to see so many ATF representatives at this event talking through common experiences and discussing what can be done better."

Delegates were invited to participate in 30-minute workshop sessions to discuss topics such as the contract and maximising lane capacity. Peoples says VOSA got first-hand feedback about areas of the ATF agreement that have worked well and others that could be improved.

Attendee Andy Chucas, business development manager from S&K Haulage, says: "This was a great opportunity for the ATF community to get together in one place and share their experiences – from signing the contract, to building the business.

"It has been worthwhile taking time out to have open and honest discussions with VOSA representatives in an informal setting."
