Frank O’Gara managing director John O’Gara cites excellent residuals for Volvo construction trucks as one of the main reasons for this purchase.
“Our strategy is to renew the fleet every five years. Volvo’s residuals have always been very good and the latest FMX tippers were highly recommended by other operators in the industry,” he says.
“Availability of the two trucks we ordered was good too,” he continues. “And with the two-year preventive maintenance programme offered by Volvo and Thomas Hardie, we think it’s a good package for our type of work, which requires a tough and reliable truck.”
The firm specified 5,100mm wheelbase N3G off-road FMX tippers with Volvo’s X-High chassis, B-Ride High drive-axle suspension and straight front axles, mounted with double skinned bodywork is by Boweld.
O’Gara also went for the D11K410 410bhp 11-litre, engine, with Volvo engine brake (VEB), mated to the I-Shift automated transmission.
The trucks were supplied by Thomas Hardie Commercials at Trafford Park.
