Flat floor site loading issues covered by Transdek10 September 2012

A loading solution for flat floor sites, based on the vehicle to ground (V2G) concept from Transdek, is set to pay dividends for operators.

A challenge for logistics and transport operators delivering to, or collecting from, flat floor sites is safe and efficient loading and unloading.

Leon Butler, operations director at Transdek, says that's why his company has developed a modular load house lift – a surface-mounted hydraulic lift that can load or unload goods vehicles to ground level.

With loading speeds claimed to be equivalent to raised docks and dock levellers, V2G means that operators can re-think their service yards – with single levels eliminating back of store or distribution centre dead space.

"If required, we can provide a design, build and installation service, including warehouse and dock modifications to optimise vehicle access and product flows, as well as fast, simple levelling of systems on uneven service yards," states Butler.

The system has already been installed at 100 stores for a supermarket chain to enable deliveries from its expanding double deck trailer fleet.
