Fliegl trailers to get Haldex vehicle safety technology 28 November 2012

German trailer manufacturer Fliegl is to install Haldex's Trailer Emergency Module (TEM) on its semi-trailers as standard in series production from the beginning of 2013.

"This allows us to provide our customers even greater safety at no extra charge," comments managing director Helmut Fliegl.

"We continually develop our trailers in accordance with our 'Safety First' motto, so innovations from Haldex constitute meaningful additions to our trailers."

Haldex's TEM 'safe parking' function prevents what Fliegl describes as the most frequent causes of accidents during coupling and uncoupling.

It ensures that the trailer's parking brake is not released, even if the driver accidentally connects the red coupling head first. The parking brake is released only when the driver deactivates it a second time by pressing the red control knob.

In addition, TEM includes three other features: a park and shunt valve; a pressure protection valve; and an emergency braking function. Together, these reduce clutter and wiring under the trailer – making vehicle repair and maintenance easier, and bringing cost and time benefits.
