Foodbank spreads Christmas cheer with Mercedes-Benz Sprinter22 December 2017

Mercedes-Benz is helping to spread Christmas cheer, by providing a Sprinter 313 CDI to Barnsley Foodbank.

Employees at Mercedes-Benz Vans UK voted to support the Barnsley charity and a similar foodbank in Milton Keynes as part of the manufacturer’s Give Back programme.

Barnsley Foodbank’s vehicle is supplied by Mercedes-Benz Vans’ used vehicle sales HQ at Wentworth Park. The Sprinter is less than a year old: formerly a demo vehicle, it has been prepared to the manufacturer’s Approved Used standards by technicians.

The van is finished in smart silver paintwork with Barnsley Foodbank’s logo, as well as sporty wheel trims. It is equipped with active and passive safety features as standard, and is covered by a Mercedes-Benz Service Care plan.

Foodbank co-ordinator Connor Hayes says: “With its huge cargo area and comfortable, driver-friendly cab, the Sprinter will be a great asset for our volunteer drivers who collect donations from supermarkets, schools, churches, partners and local businesses. It will certainly enable us to help more people in need.

“The vehicle is virtually brand new and looks really smart, so we hope it will also help to raise the Foodbank’s profile locally. We’re extremely grateful to Mercedes-Benz for their support.”
