Ford and Nissan pick up top prizes at What Van? awards17 December 2014

Ford has picked up a clutch of prizes at the What Van? Awards, with its Transit Courier scooping the key category of Van of the Year 2015.

The Transit Courier also came top in the Small Van of the Year category, while the Transit Connect won Light Van and the Ranger triumphed in Pick-up of the Year.

Judges said Ford's "revolution" of its light commercial vehicle line-up had led to "the most comprehensive range of high-quality vehicles in the marketplace, in terms of visual appeal, driver appeal, innovation, technology and efficiency".

The Green Award went to Nissan's all-electric e-NV200. The vehicle costs 2p a mile to run and, said judges, its arrival was "a shining example of how to introduce an ultra-low emission light commercial vehicle".

What Van? editor Paul Barker added: "In the right situation, the Nissan e-NV200 can save operators money without compromising on payload or volume, as well as very effectively portraying a company's green credentials."
