Four new Schmitz trailers join Luckings fleet 30 July 2013

Entertainment industry transport firm Luckings has added four new Schmitz Cargobull S.KO Mega FP25 dryfreight box van trailers to its growing fleet.

The quartet of tri-axle semi-trailers joins 40 Schmitz Cargobull vehicles already in service in the company's 100-strong trailer fleet, which is supported by 40 trucks and light commercial vehicles.

The new additions have been equipped with under-slung ramp holders for ease of loading and unloading, plus Schmitz's height adjustable air suspension.

They have also been fitted with LED lighting systems, for evening and night work, as well as Schmitz Cargobull's Rotos running gear, which features maintenance-free bearings and a ventilation system for the disc brakes.

Luckings owner Nick Dooner says Schmitz Cargobull won the contract following a competitive three-way tender, because of its speed of response and willingness to meet his requirements.

"The main reason we chose Schmitz Cargobull was because the nature of our work is very time-sensitive, so we needed a reliable manufacturer that could meet our rigorous demands and Schmitz delivered on all fronts," he says.

"Our vehicles travel throughout Europe so Schmitz's network of service locations and parts support is also integral to the smooth running of our business," he adds.
