Four OEMs announce new truck tyres08 June 2018

Michelin X Multi Energy

Michelin has launched its first fuel-saving tyre range for regional haulage operations. The Michelin X Multi Energy replaces the X MultiWay 3D regional tyre, which is said to match its predecessor’s fuel efficiency but delivers up to 20% more mileage.

Goodyear is launching new KMax S and KMax D 17.5” and 19.5” steer and drive axle tyres for LCVs and lighter trucks performing regional distribution work and travelling in urban traffic. High mileage has been the specific development goal. They replace the Goodyear RHS II steer tyre and RHD II (+).
The Conti CrossTrac tyre range for construction features premium compounds, a new tread design and a robust carcass to protect against tyre damage. Sizes include 385/65 R22.5, 315/80 R22.5 and 13 R22.5.
Hankook’s all-season SmartCity AU04+ city bus tyre offers a modified tread for low wear by adapting the shoulder width and design, plus a change to a more heat-resistant compound to help improve life. Like sibling AU03+, it features a reinforced sidewall that protects against kerbing.
