Dixson’s new additions are six 26-tonne Mercedes-Benz Actros curtainsiders, one Renault T 6x2 tractor and a 44ft Montracon curtainside trailer.
It is the first time Dixson has used Fraikin, which it describes as “an easy decision” thanks to the supplier’s commitment to maintain fleet uptime by scheduling service out of hours.
“They demonstrated a real commitment to getting under the skin of our business,” says Gerry Sint, Dixson’s director. “Everything about the contract – from the specification of the vehicles to the maintenance plan – has been optimised to make our fleet even more efficient.”
He adds: “Key to this is scheduling servicing to avoid our busiest periods, meaning we always have the fleet on the road when we need it. They also take care of much of the administration which comes with running a fleet, meaning we can focus on our customers and growing the company even further.”
The fixed monthly payments cover full servicing, maintenance and repairs, routine safety inspections, annual MOT testing, road fund licensing, tyre replacement, 24/7 breakdown support and relief vehicle cover in the event of unexpected downtime.
Sint adds: “From the moment of our first enquiry, the level of support we have received from Fraikin has been fantastic... I’m confident our fleet will continue to grow with Fraikin in the future.”
Each of the new Actros rigids has been mounted with bodywork by JC Payne and all the vehicles are expected to clock up 120,000 miles annually and be in operation five days a week.
