Fraikin ‘future-proofs’ fleet with £4m order for Euro 6 Iveco trucks19 September 2014

Commercial vehicle contract hire business Fraikin has placed a £4 million order with Iveco for Euro 6 trucks for its rental operation.

This is one of the largest Euro 6 truck orders placed by any UK rental company. Most of the new vehicles will enter service in December 2014 and January 2015.

Peter Backhouse, Fraikin's chief executive, says investing in Euro 6 vehicles is a "natural choice" for his business.

"The Euro 6 trucks will complement our current fleet and help us further reduce both our own and our customers' carbon footprints," he adds.

"They will also ensure we future-proof our fleet from possible changes in Low Emission Zone requirements in the years ahead."

The trucks will be built to Fraikin's specifications and will be located across its network of rental locations.

As well as the truck order, Fraikin is investing £400,000 in 3.5-tonne Daily chassis cabs with Luton Van bodies.
