FTA keeps fleets moving with weather and traffic updates31 December 2014
The Freight Transport Association (FTA) has a free traffic update service to give fleet managers and drivers the latest weather and road information.
The FTA is in direct communication with the Highways Agency's national traffic control centre and the Met Office, receiving up-to-date weather forecasts for the UK road network.
The first traffic update email of each day gives a weather report for that day, overnight and the following day.
The association's traffic service will also email updates if amber or red winter weather alerts are issued.
As well as weather updates, the service includes a daily email giving information on planned overnight roadworks on motorways and major roads.
