Goodyear launches new range of mixed-service truck tyres28 November 2018

Goodyear is launching a new range of mixed-service truck tyres, promising better damage resistance and longer service life than previous versions, plus an accidental damage and retreading guarantee.

Called Omnitrac, the range is designed for fleets with on- and off-road operations, and is also the first to feature Goodyear’s DuraShield technology, which features a top belt for extra damage resistance and improved retreadability.

The Omnitrac range comes in 10 sizes (six S steer tyres and four D drive tyres), including one new to the mixed service sector. This 315/70R22.5 size, says the tyre maker, covers the growing trend for the use of standard tractors in this sector.

“Today’s mixed service fleet operators are demanding tyres that offer both versatile on-road capability and greater resistance to the conditions encountered both on- and off-road,” says Benjamin Willot, Goodyear’s director of marketing for commercial tyres Europe.

“Our new Omnitrac tyres are a further development of our previous range and now feature DuraShield technology to make them even tougher and offer greater service life. We are so confident of the robustness of these tyres that we are guaranteeing them against accidental damage.”

The tyres have full 3PMSF compliance for winter use, and can be integrated to tyre management and tracking systems via radio frequency identification.

The Omnitrac S steer axle tyre is designed to cope with the conditions encountered in the construction industry and similar applications, where a high proportion of highway use is combined with off-road use on sites.

The Omnitrac D drive axle tyre features a tread with three rows of directional siped blocks, to optimise performance on highways and in winter.

Goodyear Omnitrac MST II 385/65R22.5 and 445/65R22.5 trailer tyres complement the range, giving high mileage and enhanced grip for on- and off-road applications. They have a wide tread and offer even wear and high mileage potential, along with damage resistance and high stability.

The Omnitrac range and TreadMax mould cure retread versions will be available from early December 2018.
