Goodyear tyre treads vehicle transporter alternative 02 December 2011

The first new 275/70R22.5 Goodyear Marathon LHT II trailer tyres are being provided to one of the largest car transporter companies in the UK, ECM.

"Due to the extremely heavy nature of a vehicle delivery service, few tyre manufacturers have successfully produced a tyre that can function efficiently for this particular service provision – particularly not to the premium standard for which Goodyear is known," comments Robert Mason, Goodyear's regional business manager.

The LHT II trailer tyre is the latest generation of trailer tyres for long haul operations and is claimed to reduce fuel consumption and CO2 emissions.

Its manufacturer says it combines extremely low rolling resistance with excellent wet grip, as well as shorter stopping distances, especially on wet roads.

In addition, says Goodyear, the tyre gives excellent mileage and very low noise, thanks to its construction. The Marathon LHT II is the newest member of the Goodyear Max Technology FuelMax family.
