Hako Machines cleans up with bespoke MAN TGM17 February 2015

Hako Machines has taken delivery of a custom-built MAN TGM truck to transport two of its new 3-tonne road-sweeper machines to roadshows across the country.

The Crick, Northampton-based business approached MAN, and the truck manufacturer suggested a bespoke MAN TGM 18.290, with a cantilever full-closure tail-lift.

Hako's previous truck had a beavertail ramp, but it had problems loading and unloading heavier machinery.

MAN's solution – created with tail-lift manufacturer Dhollandia and Kurt Hobbs Coachworks – was a 6-tonne capacity, cantilever tail-lift with additional aluminium flip-over extensions to ensure the large machines could be moved easily.

Hako's Paul Allen says he is "delighted" with the vehicle, supplied on a three-year contract hire through MAN Financial Services (MFS), with full Gold R&M back-up.

"The truck is clocking up the miles all over the country, and because of the type of work we required the vehicle for, we decided it would be best to get some kind of cover," says Allen.

"When MFS presented us with the option of their Gold repair and maintenance package, we knew we had to take it."
