Half dozen Ducatos for the Brandon Hire fleet 26 November 2012

Brandon Hire has taken delivery of six KFS 'Plant & Go' low-loader delivery vehicles, based on Fiat Professional's Euro 5 Ducato.

Built by KFS Special Vehicles to the specialist tools and equipment supplier's specification, these commercial vehicles are based on the Fiat Ducato 33 B2B chassis 2.3-litre MultiJet II 130bhp version, and have been fitted with a single passenger seat and a 68mph speed-limiter.

The vehicle has a gvw of 3,500kg and a 1,910kg kerb weight. Base vehicles have been supplied by Fiat Professional dealer, Adams Morey, in Southampton, Hants.

The vehicles will be used to transport light plant and equipment, and Brandon Hire's fleet and logistics manager Steve Pensom, says that, with the vehicle floor height being only 530mm from the ground and a torsion sprung tailgate, loading and unloading will be fast and safe.

"We chose the Fiat Ducato Back-to-Back, due to its ability to carry a mini-digger on the vehicle without the need to tow a trailer," states Pensom.

"What really impressed us, when the vehicle was on test, was the fact that anyone with a car licence could drive the truck," he continues.

"This, along with improved mpg performance and the potential to safely carry greater payloads, provided us with the ideal vehicle to help minimise our costs and maximise our staff levels."
