Hankook expands OE range for Mercedes-Benz trucks 17 December 2015

Hankook Tire has expanded its OE (original equipment) tyre fitments in the heavy- and medium-duty segments under its agreement with Mercedes-Benz Trucks for the Actros, Antos, Arocs, Econic and Atego.

The new selection includes Hankook’s e-cube Max AL10+ and DL10+ as well as the SmartFlex AH31 and DH31 flagship tyres. The company is also now offering multiple options for 22.5 inch tyres.

Hankook’s e-cube Max AL10+ all-position, long haul tyres feature linear grooves and waved walls designed to prevent uneven wear while providing better long-term fuel efficiency.

An improved tread compound and high load index together increase fuel efficiency while simultaneously improving load capacity, says the company.

Meanwhile, the e-cube Max DL10+ (drive axle, long haul) is aimed at improving traction, due to its three-dimensional kerfs, as well as long-distance performance (with extra-wide tread blocks and deep grooves, providing the formula).

Finally, the hybrid SmartFlex AH31 is a lower rolling resistance, all-season tyre, and its new drive axle counterpart – SmartFlex DH31 – offers what Hankooik describes as “cutting-edge technology providing excellent traction”.

It has 3PMSF (three peak mountain snowflake) coverage and will be available in three sizes, 315/80R22.5, 315/70R22.5 and 295/80R22.5 for the new Actros.
