Haulage industry to tackle insider threats: conference 24 November 2015

Tomorrow’s (25 November 2015) ‘Driving Out Insider Threat’ conference, at Hampden Park, is set to field speakers from the haulage industry alongside police and academics concerned about the growing problem of malicious interventions.

Due to be opened by Derek Mackay MSP, the Minister for Transport and the Islands, the event is being hosted by Distribution Industry Partnership Scotland (DIPS), a branch of the Scottish Business Resilience Centre.

“This conference brings together vital knowledge and discussion on the key issues facing an industry that quite literally drives Scotland,” states Mackay.

“The good work of DIPS and the SBRC in highlighting the danger of insider threat means that individuals and companies throughout the haulage industry can access insight from influential figures on the problem,” he continues.

“I especially applaud the model of a morning conference followed by a workshop. It will yield many practical benefits and opportunities for delegates to develop their own methods for tackling rogue staff.”

Other speakers include Denis Fischbacher-Smith, Glasgow University’s chair in risk and resilience, and DI Chris Lewis of Police Scotland.

Tickets are available to DIPS members and non-members.
