Hazardous waste tanker to appear on Whale Tankers’ CV Show stand03 March 2011

Welcoming the return of the CV Show this year is specialist waste commercial vehicles manufacturer Whale Tankers of Solihull.

Whale Tankers says its main attraction will be a stainless steel tri-axle tipping trailer built to transport hazardous waste.

The BespokeWhale vehicle is the latest from a multiple order, which includes six identical ADR tankers, for Taylors Industrial Services of Aberdeen – one of the largest family-owned waste management companies in Scotland.

"Since the last CV Show, Whale has invested heavily in innovation and product development, with many new features now being included as standard, particularly with regard to operator safety and automated electronic controls," says Whale Tankers' managing director Mark Warmington.

"We will be keen to demonstrate these features over the three show days in April," he adds.

Constructed from 316-grade stainless steel, the vacuum tanker's chassis features load sensing, stability and traction control, and a lifting front axle. With a capacity of 6,000 gallons, the tank features two top man lids and a hydraulically operated folding handrail with full-length catwalk fitted nearside.

Manufactured to ADR Class 3, 6.1 and 8 specifications, and with the capacity to transport hazardous waste, the 44-tonne gvw truck, with tri-axle running gear, will have TC1 and TC2 approval ahead of joining Taylors' 40-strong tanker fleet.

Warmington believes the BespokeWhale demonstrates the company's capabilities in specialist tanker manufacture. "The recent order for six identical units represents a significant piece of business and follows [Taylors'] decision to invest in a KaiserWhale dirty water recycler last year."
