Hicks Logistics takes quintet of Scania trucks 09 August 2013

Welsh haulage company Hicks Logistics has taken delivery of five new Scania Strealine G445 6x2 tractor units, from Keltruck.

All the vehicles have been fitted with Scania Active Prediction – the latest variant of Scania's vehicle cruise control system technology, which uses GPS to predict the topography of the road ahead and claims to save up to 3% on fuel consumption.

"The Scania brand has always been reliable and trustworthy with, of course, good residual values," comments Hicks managing director Terry Hicks.

"Opting for the high line cab will enable us to use the new vehicles for three years on the UK Platform contract then put them into our general haulage fleet for a further three or four years."

The firm, which this year celebrates 35 years in the haulage business, says the new vehicles will be used to deliver power access equipment throughout the UK.
