Highlands haulier says Renault Range C delivers the full package04 February 2015

Scottish haulage business Baillie Brothers (Contractors) has taken delivery of a Euro 6 Renault Range C truck, which, according to the operator, is already delivering “impressive” fuel returns.

Supplied by dealer Elgin Truck and Van Centre, the Moray-based operator's latest addition is a 32-tonne Range C430 8x4, fitted with an Atlas 135.2 crane and body by PMH Coachbuilders.

Half of Baillie Brothers' 27-strong fleet is now Renault and director Kenny Baillie says the vehicles are robust and reliable, making them ideal for his business.

The Range C is also popular with the driver, adds Baillie: "Its increased cab space, multiple storage areas and tasteful interiors offer a really comfortable life on board.

"He particularly likes the automated gearbox, which is making his job much easier and more enjoyable.

"Obviously fuel consumption is important to the profitability of our business and this is improving all the time with the Range C as the engine beds in. We are getting, on average, 7.8 mpg which is very impressive for a new vehicle on this hilly and hard-going terrain."
