Hoyer selects MAN for new Bowmans contract 21 April 2010

Transport logistics provider Hoyer has been awarded a new distribution agreement with Bowmans Flour, and has gone for MAN as its preferred truck supplier.

Hoyer divisional director David Bennett explains that the operator, already has 14 new TGS 26.440BLS 6x2 tractor units in service.

He says he used MAN Financial Services, with a five-year contract maintenance agreement, to buy the fleet – and has now done so again with its new TIP bulk tanker-trailers.

On the road, the new fleet will operate out of Bowmans' flour mills in Hitchin, Hertfordshire, and Whitley Bridge in South Yorkshire, to locations throughout the UK.

"MAN is now a proven product in our fleet," comments Bennett. "We are always evaluating other truck marques, but MAN consistently provides us with the most competitive whole-life cost."

And he adds: "Our top two operating criteria, fuel economy and reliability, are MAN qualities upon which we know we can rely."
