Ian Craig (Haulage) builds up fleet with first Renault trucks 12 October 2012

Scottish road transport services provider Ian Craig (Haulage) has taken delivery of seven new Renault Premium 460.25 6x2 tag axle tractor units and one new Renault Premium Lander 460.26 6x2 tag axle rigid chassis, with rear mounted crane.

Supplied through Renault Trucks distributor Border Trucks, these are the first Renaults to join Ian Craig's 55-strong fleet of Scania and MAN trucks.

Director Kevin Craig explains that new Renault Premium trucks, all of which have Privilege cabs, will be used to pull the company's fleet of timber, and brick and block carrying trailers for clients in the construction industry.

Meanwhile, the Renault Premium Lander is fitted with a bespoke rear-mounted crane for carrying bricks.

"As a haulage company, the most important thing we need to meet our customers' expectations is reliable, cost effective trucks. We have been keeping a close eye on reliability and fuel consumption within our existing fleet, so decided to give Renault a chance," ," comments Craig.

"We have only had the trucks a few weeks but we haven't been disappointed. Fuel consumption is impressive – proving to be as competitive as the most fuel efficient of the other marques on our fleet," he continues.

"In addition, driver feedback is good; service levels are excellent and all the Renault Premiums have proved to be reliable so far. If they continue to operate well, then we will certainly consider adding more to our fleet in the future."
