Interserve builds fleet of the future with MAN09 January 2017

Construction business Interserve has taken delivery of 12 new MAN vehicles – 10 TGS and two TGLs – all supplied on contract hire through BNP Paribas Rental Solutions.

Interserve was looking to replace an ageing and mixed fleet of vehicles, and worked with BNP Paribas to secure the best deal.

Phil Hughes, Interserve’s group transport manager, says: “Based on my previous experience as a user of MANs, I knew they would offer a strong product, good fuel consumption and good value compared to the competition.

“We took delivery of a 26-tonne MAN TGS about 12 months ago and our experience with that vehicle influenced our decision to go ahead and place the order for 12 more.”

The fleet spec is being standardised, Hughes adds, so vehicles can be used at different depots, depending on workload.

Darren Turley, business development manager for BNP Paribas Rental Solutions, says: “We are delighted to work with MAN Truck & Bus UK and Interserve on this contract hire deal, which is a significant investment for Interserve.

“The new vehicles are bespoke, fully compliant and fitted with the latest safety equipment including remote controls for the drivers to operate the cranes. It is a real image upgrade for Interserve and we will be managing and maintaining the fleet.”
