Irizar drives new coach powertrains to NEC16 October 2018

Irizar UK will be showcasing three of its latest coaches, all with Euro VI engines and ZF transmissions, at the forthcoming Euro Bus Expo (NEC, Birmingham; 30 October to 1 November).

The stand will feature an Irizar i8, an Irizar i6S destined for Whites of St Albans, and an Irizar i6 from stock.

The 14.07m, Irizar i8 seats 55 passengers and is powered by a DAF MX13 engine, producing 523bhp and driving through a 12-speed Traxon automated manual transmission system with predictive shifting control.

The 10.78m, 39-seater Irizar i6S, for Whites of St Albans, is powered by DAF’s MX11 engine delivering 362bhp and 1,900Nm of Torque driving through ZF’s Ecolife six-speed transmission.

The third vehicle is an Irizar UK stock i6 57-seat, 12.92m coach, featuring DAF’s MX11 engine rated at 408hp. This unit includes Predictive Cruise Control and drives a ZF Ecolife six-speed transmission.

All three are equipped with Safety Packs, including adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning systems, active emergency braking system and a tyre pressure monitoring system, and they also feature Irizar’s new dashboard display.

In addition to the three on the stand, outside the show entrance there will be an i6S 53-seater 12.92m coach with a DAF MX11 402bhp engine, plus an IE 10.8m electric bus with depot plug-in charging solution.
