The 12.9m, 57-seaters have MX-11 300 402bhp engines driving through ZF EcoLife automatic transmissions, and safety features include adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning and automated emergency braking.
Inside, they have seatback tables, USB charging points, a centre toilet, drinks machine and Bosch Smart Series audio with twin-monitor Actia DVD system.
Dartline has nine i6 Integrals on its fleet, but these are its first i6S Integrals.
“Irizar is an excellent company to deal with, keeping in touch with you throughout the order and build process: we even went to the factory to see the coaches being built,” says David Hounslow, Dartline’s managing director.
“Keeping a fleet up to date is vital now with Euro VI and low emissions zones,” he says. “It’s not just London, we see low emissions requirements coming in Birmingham, Manchester and Newcastle, which are all cities we visit regularly doing university work.”
The new additions will be maintained in house and are expected to remain in service for ten years.
