Iveco and Paneltex exhibit new DriveAway reefers14 September 2017

Iveco 18-tonne Eurocargo

Iveco and Paneltex have shown a new range of demonstrators in the truck OEM’s recently-expanded ‘DriveAway’ programme at the TCS&D (Temperature Controlled Storage and Distribution) show at Ricoh Arena, Coventry.

As bodybuilder Paneltex is holding Iveco chassis in stock, it can reduce delivery times to six weeks for popular body sizes. Three sizes of vehicle were shown: 7.2 Iveco Daily chassis cab, 18-tonne Eurocargo chassis cab, and 26 tonne Stralis 6x2 rigid. A 12-tonne Eurocargo model is also part of the range.

Trucks are available in various types of tail-lift configuration and Carrier Transicold fridge models.

The Stralis comes with multi-compartment insulated PanelTex box body and is fitted with Carrier’s Iceland Twincool engine. That is powered by a hydraulic pump connected to the Cursor’s power take-off. The pump drives a generator that delivers electrical power to the fridge and provides refrigeration even at engine idle.

Also shown was a Eurocargo 18-tonner fitted with Carrier Transicold Supra fridge.

At the nearby Paneltex stand, a 7.2-tonne Daily chassis cab was shown fitted with 16-foot long refrigerated box body, and cooled by a Carrier Pulsor 500 fridge.

Iveco’s ‘DriveAway’ programme was extended to include other types of bodies, including concrete mixers, aluminium bodies, walking-floor units, skip and hook loaders, and more. Other partners include Abba, Boughton, Boweld, Brit-Tipp, Hiab, Hyva, JC Payne, Johnston and Kel-berg.
