Iveco Vision is clear winner of European sustainability award02 December 2015

Iveco Vision, the manufacturer’s concept vehicle for urban delivery operations show at this year’s CV Show (NEC, Birmingham, April 2015), has won a European award for sustainability.

German magazine ‘Transport’ says it represents the best and most integrated approach to future urban needs.

The Vision concept van features a dual energy system, which can self adapt to the most suitable mode – all-electric or hybrid.

Electric mode is used for inner city areas and ensures low noise and zero emissions; the hybrid (thermoelectric) model works on longer journeys and still, says Iveco, cuts fuel consumption and CO2 by up to 25%.

The vehicle also has clear front pillars to boost visibility for drivers and a rear-view camera displayed on a panoramic screen above the windscreen.

Other features include adaptive LED lighting, a photovoltaic roof which uses sunlight to generate battery power, and advanced GPS tracking. The Vision can also automatically adjust its tyre pressures, according to the weight of the load.

A fully automatic system controls loading and unloading, with air bag-style devices to hold packages in place.
