JG Plant impressed by Iveco New Eurocargo 17 October 2016

Bridgend-based agricultural tractors and landscaping products distributor JG Plant has started working its first Iveco truck, a New Eurocargo, which is delivering across South Wales.

The 4x2 rigid – specified with a plant body and Fassi truck-mounted crane – was supplied by local Iveco dealer Glenside Commercials of Caerphilly.

“From day one it’s had a very busy introduction to life on our fleet, and it hasn’t skipped a beat,” reports JG Plant managing director Gareth Rees.

“We’re over the moon with the truck’s performance and versatility, and when the time comes to expand, I’m confident we’ll be looking at another Iveco,” he says, adding the driver feedback has been positive.

Powered by Iveco’s Tector 5 engine, JG Plant’s New Eurocargo (ML160E21/P) is capable of producing up to 210bhp and 750Nm of torque.

It also features Iveco’s patented Hi-SCR (high efficiency selective catalytic reduction) system, designed to meet Euro 6 without the need for EGR (exhaust gas recirculation).

“Our drivers have reported being really impressed with the New Eurocargo’s responsive transmission and, crucially, its turning circle,” states Rees.

“A lot of our deliveries [of landscaping products] take place in urban locations, such as city centres, and being able to pull into those tricky spots with ease and offload with the crane makes every delivery easier,” he adds.
