John Jolly rides high with first Isuzu truck16 February 2017

Orkney-based shipbroker John Jolly has taken delivery of its first Isuzu truck, a 3.5-tonne Isuzu Grafter which is now in operation with the company’s fleet at Kirkwall harbour, providing a ship stores transfer service.

Supplied by local Kirkwall garage J&W Tait in partnership with dealer Imperial Commercials in Glasgow, Jolly’s new addition is fitted with a 14ft dropside body and rear-mounted Hiab crane with 4-metre reach.

“When we were looking at replacing one of our existing trucks, we had had some really good comments and feedback about the Isuzu truck range from our local commercial vehicle garage who were then able to put together a very attractive deal for us to acquire our first ever Isuzu,” says Steven Spence, director at John Jolly.

John Jolly anticipates that its inaugural Isuzu will have a working life of five years on the island and says it has already been well received by drivers, who find it an easy vehicle to manoeuvre within the harbour and around the island’s roads.
