Jubilee Clip secures Fuso Canter truck tie-up 07 July 2011

Ninety years after it gave the world the Jubilee Clip, L Robinson & Co has bought its first 7.5-tonne Fuso Canter delivery vehicle.

A Canter 7C18 truck, with high volume curtainside body by JC Payne, of Aldridge, West Midlands, it replaced a 7.5-tonne Mercedes-Benz Vario panel van, which was nine years old and which Mercedes-Benz dealer Sparshatts took back in part-exchange.

L Robinson & Co's new truck is powered by a 175bhp Euro 5 and EEV compliant engine, which the firm's managing director Ian Jennings says makes a big difference.

"The Canter's clean engine technology means we won't have any issues with the London LEZ [Low Emissions Zone] for many years to come, while the body was as big as we could get, and capable of carrying up to 16 pallets," he states.
