Supplied by Thompson Commercials, the Range D is equipped with the dedicated Johnston sweeper pack, and has gone into operation on a project to turn a former clay pit and brick works into a mountain bike centre and nature walk area.
“Operating on land recovery sites is messy work especially in winter. Our new Range D Sweeper is key to ensuring that we don’t leave any debris all over the busy A19 near York,” says David Brown, director at EES.
Previously, EES has hired road sweeper trucks but, says Brown, buying a vehicle means it can be used when and where needed to keep the nearby trunk road clean.
The Renault Trucks Range D chassis with sweeper pack is factory designed, built and warranted, and comes with the offside ‘Vision Door’ for optimum visibility.
With a heavy-duty rear axle, the sweeper benefits from a 700kg additional payload and fuel tank that carries an additional 40 litres over alternative chassis, while its short wheelbase improves manoeuvrability.
“The driver says it’s brilliant and prefers it to the hired trucks, and says it’s the best one for our particular job,” adds Brown.
