Latest coach orders: Volvo B11R and Irizar i6 Integrals23 July 2015

The latest batch of coach orders includes a Volvo B11R for Three Star Coaches, an Irizar i6 Integral for Barnetts Coaches and another Irizar i6 for Chandlers Coach Travel.

Three Star's 53-seater Volvo B11R (pictured) is the third Volvo vehicle it has acquired in the past three years, but the first with Jonckheere bodywork.

Colin Dudley, managing director for the Luton-based operator, says: "Volvo with Sunsundegui bodywork was selected for the previous two purchases. This is the first time we have specified Jonckheere bodywork and it was great to have the opportunity to travel to Belgium to the Jonckheere factory to see our coach being built."

Barnetts Coaches, meanwhile, has decided that its first new vehicle should be an i6 Integral from Irizar.

"We looked at many other coaches but, for us, this was the best quality vehicle we saw," says director Richard Barnett.

The 12.9m, two-axle, 55-seater has joined Barnetts' 10-strong fleet. The i6 has DAF's Paccar MX11 Euro 6 engine and ZF's AS-Tronic auto-shift gearbox.

Chandlers Coach Travel has also taken delivery of an Irizar i6 Integral, after seeing the vehicle at last year's Euro Bus Expo and following successful trials with DAF coaches.

The 12.9m, 53-seater has been specified with footrests and seatback tables, wood-effect flooring, a centre toilet, twin-screen DVD system and reversing camera.

It is powered by DAF's MX11 271 engine and has a ZF AS-Tronic auto-shift gearbox.
