Lime Logistics says SuperLite body tips the balance for payload and strength21 May 2014

Lime Logistics has taken delivery of a Euro 6 Mercedes-Benz Arocs fitted with a Charlton SuperLite body, designed to give maximum payload on Euro 6 chassis.

Dave Dixon, transport manager for the Borough-Green based haulier, says: "For carrying sand and aggregates, ultimately payload is the name of the game.

"SuperLite is definitely the right tipper body for us because it maximises our carrying capacity. Not only that, but it's a strong, practical and reliable design that's very easy to use."

The curved floor, he adds, makes tipping easier by preventing residue from remaining in the body.

Charlton says its SuperLite is the lightest all-steel tipper body in the UK. On a Euro 6 8x4 tipper, weighing 13 tonnes, the payload with Superlite is 19 tonnes.

Charlton is exhibiting at the TIP-Ex event in Harrogate (29 to 31 May 2014), where visitors can see a range of trucks fitted with SuperLite bodies, as well as a Euro 6 DAF 8x4 fitted with a steel GrabLite body – similar to SuperLite but designed for cranes and grabs.
