Logistics operator builds three-year extension to JCB deal03 February 2015

Construction equipment manufacturer JCB has renewed its aftermarket parts distribution contract with Norbert Dentressangle, in a three-year, multi-million pound deal.

As part of the contract, Norbert Dentressangle has committed to invest in an aerodynamic supercube trailer and Euro 6 tractor combination to manage increased outbound volumes from JCB's world parts centre for a key transport route.

Operating five nights a week, the logistics provider makes evening collections of stock parts and VOR (vehicle off-road) orders from JCB's world parts centre in Uttoxeter, Staffordshire.

With a dedicated fleet, Norbert Dentressangle then trunks aftersales product to JCB's 100-strong depot network across the UK, with deliveries to dealers before 7am the next day.

JCB uses Norbert's order tracking web portal to give the manufacturer real-time access to delivery data and proof of delivery information.

Chris Buckler, operations director for JCB Service, says: "With the upswing in the construction sector, Norbert Dentressangle has been able to use its flexible solution to effectively meet the increased demand from service dealers across the UK."
