Low platform trailer tyres offer improved grip 14 November 2011

Goodyear's new Regional RHT II 19.5in and 17.5in range of low platform trailer tyres are said to provide high operational mileage and better wet grip as well as achieving lower rolling resistance.

Designed for applications such as car transporters in both long and regional haul service, as well as for heavy haulage trailers, they also meet the requirements of the future EU Regulation 661/2009.

The tyres, which replace the Marathon LHT low platform trailer tyre range, have been designed to provide extra durability.

The 4-rib pattern provides good crown robustness, while the new groove shape improves cracking resistance and stone rejection. The tread compound is also claimed to enhance damage resistance.

The complete range is being rolled out between now and the end of the year, and covers sizes from 245/70R17.5 to 245/70R19.5.
