LPG fuel duty campaign ignited with new backer27 February 2014

Trade association UKLPG is backing the FairFuelUK campaign, calling on the government to maintain lower fuel duty for LPG (liquefied petroleum gas) beyond 2015.

FairFuel UK believes the product should receive the same level of support from the government as LNG and CNG (liquefied natural and compressed gas). UKLPG represents the LP gas industry.

"I'm delighted to have UKLPG supporting our FairFuelUK campaign for affordable fuel for all drivers," says Quentin Willson, lead campaigner for FairFuelUK.

"LPG is almost half the cost of diesel and unleaded, and is another choice for ... businesses to help reduce their transport bills. The government should support this cheaper cleaner fuel with lower duty rates."

UKLPG believes a reduction in fuel duty will promote investment in LPG availability across the county, and result in more vehicles being converted to run on the fuel.

FairFuelUK's other backers include the Road Haulage Association, Freight Transport Association and the RAC.
