Maintenance boost with BPW’s Eco Plus 3 14 August 2015

BPW says its new-generation Eco Plus 3combines all the benefits of the popular Eco Hub system with even better maintenance and fitting features for transport engineers.

Like its predecessor, ECO Plus 3 is designed for the high duty cycles of modern transport operation.

Features include DIN ISO tapered roller bearings, which can be replaced easily and inexpensively, if required, without having to fit a complete new hub.

The hub is designed with an integrated torque-limiting axle nut – a single threaded nut following the Formula 1 principle, with the axle nut acting as a puller.

This enables simple removal of the entire wheel/hub, including the brake drum and bearings, without having to remove the wheel. Brake servicing and maintenance times are considerably reduced, says BPW.

The new circumferential hub design, with open spokes, provides improved thermal management for the bearings and lubricant, while the new grease seal promises optimum protection and performance.
